Nuclear Energy

NUCLEAR ENERGY.

This is the name of the energy we choosed.

The type of energy is Primary, because it is obtained from the natural resources.

This energy is not renewable, because it uses finite resources like uranium and produces dangerous radioactive waste.

Nuclear energy is traditional because it's been used to generate electricity for a long time.

Nuclear reactions, mainly uranium or plutonium fission, which are used to generate electricity.

Advantages:

  • A small amount of fuel produces a large amount of energy.

  • Low emissions during operation.

  • Continuous power generation, unlike some weather-dependent renewable sources.

Problems:

  • Dangerous waste that needs to be managed in a safe way for thousands of years.

  • Catastrophic incidents, like Chernobyl and Fukushima.

  • Expensive and time-consuming to build nuclear plants.
